Yeah, my first new game in 1.8.0 brought the Herald to my HW. That thing creeped me out. Almost destroyed it, but was still fission destroyer age. And then I saw my planet's morale :shock: I can only imagine what other evil surprises are in store for SOTS 2. Thanks Mec!

The new encounter is awesome, be sure to have sound on to hear the speech. The aftermath is inventive too - nice touch. It also comes with a cool hint at SotS2 tech toys!

Helix looks like it could be pretty entertaining.

I tried to start a Zuul game on that map, but got distracted by a Terran game on a disk.

Is mountain map like custom-made volcano? Also, helix means double helix? Just curious.

Helix is a single helix. At minimal star counts it's a line of stars. Looks neat for a long game (many stars)...

Mountain (haven't tried it yet) looks a bit like a squished sphere...

Better example - Flat bottom, think 4 sided pyramid with rounded corners (and non flat sides) with a semi-sharp tip.

Sinusoid seems like it was meant for high star counts.

I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything but dare I ask... this is the last patch?

btw I really like the axis line for the star map :D

Kerberos has neither confirmed or denied if this is the final update. I hope not, mostly because ceasfire/NAP/Alliance behavior is totally borked in the new scenario...

Mmmm...dammnit. I'm playing a copy of SotS a friend got for me, before the Ultimate Collection. I dunno, should I purchase the collection myself just to get the new maps? Or download the patch and just go on without said maps? Is it possible to play in someone's game who's using those maps if I don't have them myself? :/
