Welcome to the Kerberos Productions forums. As you can see there's a lot of information to be found about their exciting games. Please consider these guidelines before posting in order to increase your chances of getting a positive response and a warm welcome from the community.

1. Check the wikis before asking a question
Almost all of the information on this forum has been entered into a wiki and is easy to reference by topic or through a search. Chances are any questions you have are already answered there. Links to each game's wiki can be found in that game's section of the forum. If the wiki does not answer your question or you are unclear about the answer and need additional detail or clarification please feel free to ask here.

2. Stay on topic
These forums are for the discussion of the Sword of the Stars and Fort Zombie games. Please try to limit your posts to that subject to ensure this forum as an excellent source for information about the game. There is another forum appropriate for any other discussions not about these games.

3. Criticize constructively
Although criticism is welcome and encouraged please understand that these games have been development by industry veterans of many years. Chances are your perception of a flaw in the game has been discussed either internally or on this forum and the current direction has been chosen for a reason. Criticism that is disrespectful or malicious in nature (a.k.a. trolling) will result in a quick and direct dismissal of your post by the developers and the other community members.

4. Respect the developers
We have an almost unprecedented opportunity to converse directly with the development team through this forum. They have committed to taking time to answer our questions and foster discussion by posting multiple times a day themselves and not through some PR or community manager. Please respect them and their time with your questions and posts to encourage their continued participation.

5. Respect others
Although you may feel passionately about a particular topic or subject, please understand that there are people behind every username. Respect their thoughts and opinions and you will be treated in kind. Again, trolling is not tolerated on this forum and will be dealt with.

I hope the design specs are up-to-date. We might need to use it extensively in future. :P

Well done, Rorsch.

I've noticed in several posts now that forum members freely recommend and discuss no-CD cracks for the game. I'm well aware that copy protection schemes can cause severe problems with games, and I'm intimately aquainted with what happens when publishers apply Sony SecuROM to GOLD MASTER game disks AFTER the QA cycle was supposed to be complete. (Diablo 2's release fiasco being a flagship example).

Still.. such discussion is usually strongly discouraged by both the publisher (durr) and the developers. Are things that different here? That'd be... amazing. :)

A realism that is not discouraged. I approve. I'm just unaccustomed to it.

I see the demonization of most people who use cracks and such as a farse at best, its something I feel strongly about and hence with the good atmosphere on this forum why I wont expand on this thought. (Its just in real life terms many of these demonized people buy tons more stuff than the avg joe and are all for advocating small to mid size developers, offcourse that doesnt fit into the stereotype!

However the following quote makes me very very happy that I went out, bought this game and supported the company

they are...realistic...here.

Common sense ^^ A rare thing, thats only going to benefit the game, in fact unless a game is really bad if it has none or sensible protection on it but no drm I go out my way to buy it and the likes of gciv 2 and alike games blows the whole conspiracy theory against most customers out the window.

Anyway aside from all that, I just read the forum rules and what a difference on this forum! I think its because you openly state trolling is not tolerated. (It is a massive problem on most forums , I hope your community sustains this mentality)

Where is the "You are not on the internet anymore" speech? That was golden and needs to be added!

... My first experience with sots was a cracked copy given to me by a friend.... Then around when ANY:any: came out I bought the collectors edition... Then I bought Sots][ about a month after it came out.
I know my friend bought sots2 and I'm pretty sure he also wound up buying the collectors ed....

Sometimes it works out as free advertising.

Yeah. Shite happens. All we can really say is...Please support the creators of the things you love when you have the chance. I know that not all creative people feel this way, but some of us believe we have better things to do than wag fingers at people all the time, call them thieves, or put annoying DRM all over everything. :googly:
