lol no problem...hope you have a great time playing. Let us know how it goes!

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
If anyone else is having trouble getting their impulse ANY dl to work, what I did was simply copy all the files from the install directory it chose (in my case C:\ of all places) and put them in the sots install folder.
That's all, it works fine for me now; despite it's prereq that it have an impulse version of the previous games (which I read too late heh).

Yeah, I'm a bastard, just be worried that I might be right despite that fact.

Based on posts in other forums, this works for everythng except joining a multiplayer game. If you try to do that your map is corrupted and you can't play. Apparently you can host games, just not join them and play.
If anyone has a workaround for this issue please post here. I'd like to find a way to buy this mini-expansion without having to repurchase the original game and 2 expansions.

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
Actually I discovered exactly that the other day.
Been hosting games just fine, even Mecron joined in one, using new ANY techs and ships and all. It's just joining other people's games that's a problem.
I removed the install and restored sots up to AMOC, then had Impulse search for them, which it found and identified as ultimate collection, just not 'activated' on impulse. I let it DL ANY again and it installed correctly, but now it can't find the CD key
I've since sent a message to Impulse support asking for help, here's hoping for a quick response. Otherwise, I can live with hosting

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
Quick update: now I've fixed the CD key issue by manually adding its entry into the registry, however the MP joining issues remain. EDIT: these have now been resolved with a complete clean install and proper patching of AMOC up to 1.6.6 before applying ANY.
TBH I'd advise anyone trying to get the game atm to just go with steam's Complete Pack, that's SotS, BoB, AmoC AND ANY for 15,-. Doesn't get much better than that really.

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
Unless you already have SotS, BoB, or AMoC from any source that isn't Steam, since Steam seems to think that you shouldn't own any non-Steam products.

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
I personally try not to mix online vendors exactly for these reasons...
I had to make an exception with aMoC because that expansion was only availlable from gamersgate at the time, but my other downloads came from D2D.
Never had any problems, since its only downloading the executable/installer, which seems to be just about the same has copying a CD's content onto your HD, and doesn't involve a sometimes troublesome software manager (not that Steam or Impulse isn't nice, but they don't play well with others...)

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
I'm a double-dipper.
I bought the original game on GamersGate when it first came out, then bought the original game and all the expansions on Steam when ANY came out.
I mean, it's only $16 for the whole shebang, how can you go wrong?
Some products interoperate with their expansions on Steam.
I don't own many non-Steam products because it's so damn convenient and cheap to buy things on their evil weekend deals...

So...I'm assuming that there won't be a box/physical version for ANY?

Your assumption is partially wrong. If you download from gamersgate and happen to have a DvD burner... you can have a physical version!! Wow... it's do-it-yourself!! lol

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
Okay, excepting the DIY-Box Version...

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
It's also quite possible, with a phone call to paradox, and a lot of money to get this custom made!

Re: Where to buy the game(s)
Can you still buy the actual discs for the expansions? I'm in Canada by the way. I asked at the local EB and the didn't even know about sots. If not which download site is the best?
Thanks.
Thanks.
