I was going to stick with Pulsed for the extra tactical benefits Fusion doesn't mention, but apparently Fusion gives you the same and/or better tactical boost? I'd think the research should say "tactical speed /" or something like Pulsed does.

Tarka fusion sections push harder in combat then pulsed fission, weigh less, have a higher top speed, and have more armor, along with having a medium turret. All in all, fusion is better than all fission sections across the board.

we will be patching that omission about fusion engines increases tact speed.

It would be really nice if the fusion and anti-matter drives could be used as ultra-short range beam weapons.

it would be nice but if you think the "my ships are chaotic in the middle of a 20 destroyer clusterF*" are grumpy now...wait till a mass driver knocked their ship ass over teakettle and the am drive plume roasted one of their own ships

I would have your children if that could happen in the game. And if I were actualy female and attracted to you in any possible way.

Of course, there is something to be said for a helmsman (AI) smart enough to turn the engines off if the ship starts spinning incontrolably. :P

There doesn't seem to be a tactical speed number shown on the build or design interface, though Mecron seemed suprised that it wasn't there. My guess is that in the near future, a listing of tactical speed will make it into the interface.

Here's hopping. My initial reaction was that the STL and Tac speed were the same number, guess I was wrong.

I'm with Mecron on not adding "too" much realism with the drive exhausts. The CnC dreadnaught you placed at the back of your defense fleet will be right in front of your planet, and frying half the population to possibly save the other half as it accelerates into battle is not exactly a fun feature.

You just came up with another awesome result, I want them even more now. Seriously though, when I make my deadly engines mod, the range is going to be the same as the engine exaust. That means, you only have to keep your ships about a ship's length away from each other and a far rear ship in planetary defense won't have the range to hit your own planet with its engines. Although, I want to double the length of the fusion exaust.
