i cann't seem to get the hang of the control tech at first i thought you just had to research them to get to control more ships. then i read this thread and tried to get control ships with the tech researched but i don't seem to be able to control any more ships. i am limited to 2 cruisers even with ships with the control section and i am always out numbered this causes me to lose despite better weapon techs can any one help with what i am doing wrong?

Are you using CnC ships? Because with a CnC cruiser you can get up to about 8 cruisers max with all of the C3 command point techs.
If you aren't using CnC ships the most cruisers you will ever get (barring a rare bonus from massive outnumbering) is 2.

I don't remember where but I thought I saw info that said that the Crow don't like Deep Scans. So as a precaution I equiped all my Biomcolonizers with Deep Scan Command Sections, well I triggered a colony trap, the Crow didn't run and I lost two Colonizers. So, if anyone wants to post a link to the area that states that Deep Scan prevents colony traps, I need to refute the claim.

Deep Scans don't prevent colony traps and such a statement was never made by anyone. Deep Scans prevent encounters with cloaked Crow destroyers. The cloaked destroyers run from planets where deep scan ships are sent, thus preventing any encounter. The best thing for colony traps is lots of gauss pd or other weapons such as phasers and such.

Using a CnC DN, is there anyway to get more than three (CnC included) DNs at once??

Theres Holographic Tactics and Combat Algorithms that give a few extra CP's each. And the Zuul get a flat CP bonus on all their CnC's, due to their improved teamworking skillz...
Combined, that means the Zuul can end up fielding 4 DN's total with a CnC DN...

But if you don't play as Zuul, can you still field 4 DN's? Can the overwhelming number CP bonus get you enough to field the 4?

I have frequently fielded 4 DNs. My basic late game setup is 3 DNs and 2 CAs. With my overwhelming economic advantage I field large, flexable fleets. I will very often receive reinforcements of 1 additional DN and 2 or so additional CAs.

Also, a flagship fleet (For any faction) can field 4 DNs as a matter of course (And occasionally 5, with the bonus points for outnumbering the opponent).

Since trade falls under this catagory I'll ask. If you wish to trade with a neutral colony, does that happen automaticlly or do I need a trade station? If I build a trade station in an allied or NAP area, can I still build light defense platforms?

I think that happens automatically if you've got a planet that can throw a trade route out there. But you could probably get more routes to the neutral by setting up trade stations over worlds in range that aren't already trading with it.

What does the second question even mean? Treaties don't stop you from building ships or platforms, but you can only build platforms over your colonies, so if you have a trade station that isn't over your own colony you can't build platforms to guard it.
