Hello all! So, after so analysis and revision, The Pit: The Board Game Kickstarter will begin anew on May 10th - those of you who are signed up to the newsletter (and why aren't you? It's got good stuff) will get lots of details shortly, but in short, we have made some changes to the camapaign that we think everyone will be happy with. That said, as before we need to get the word out and hit the ground running with this campaign - we can make great games, but we're still the new kids on the block with tabletop gamers, so we need help letting people know about us and our new board game!

We've opted to start a new thread, just to keep things organized - stay tuned here for more info between now and May 10th!

Just some feedback... I thought the brawler level between $100 - $125 was a good idea, any chance we will see that on May 10?

Sharing this to a bunch of friends already!
One seemed definitely interested and the lower price for the base game pledge this time around might certainly interests her, especially since she already live in a shared household with others she already play boardgames with if I recall.

Post links to their kickstarter and twitch page on offtopic forums (discord is good too) to help spread the word.

Congratulations on reaching 50% in less than one week! I do believe this is the fastest Kickstarter like campaign yet for your company! So excited to see you are on track to reach way more than 100% funding! :)

Just wanted to quickly post about how things went at CanGames this year for the Pit. I scheduled 2 sessions with the game, one on Friday evening and one on Sunday. For the Friday session, I unfortunately did not get any signups - I'm not a regular GM so wasn't able to get any players based on name recognition either of myself or the game, and there were more available spots in games running Friday evening than players to fill them. However I was able to talk with a number of the other folks playing board games about the Pit.

On Sunday I ran the game again, and this time I was able to get 4 players to give it a try. Mostly they seemed to enjoy it, though it took them almost the full allotted time (4 hours) just to get through the first floor! A lot of this seemed to be due to unfamiliarity with the game as they often needed a bit of time to figure out what they wanted to do when their turn came around. Also, they were slowed down by bad dice luck in some cases, and took longer to clear rooms as a result; the scout in particular couldn't hit the broad side of a barn much of the time.

I did get some feedback about the game's pacing, but they did appreciate that I was there as GM and able to help keep them on track, and I think if the players had been familiar enough with the rules to keep turn-taking snappy, it would have helped ameliorate such concerns. The other feedback I got was from one player who liked the art and visual style, but would have preferred more of a literal exploration of a maze and less of an abstracted one. Of course, as Mecron described in his recent dev diary, this would bring along a host of complications. I also met briefly with DemoMonkey after the second game session, so we were able to chat a bit.

Anyway, overall I would say it was a moderately successful con for The Pit, so hopefully that helps with the kickstarter a bit!
