Sounds great!
A lot of these road signs go missing every year as the tourists collect their trophies. It makes me wonder if this road sign is indeed the most wanted souvenir of Norway...

About the map, size and 50/50: It's always fun to have some kind of late-era challenge, and I find a barbell or some other kind of restricted map to be useful in that regard. Also, increasing the number of starting planets while keeping the total number of planets down will limit our ability to out-expand the AI. How about: SG team vs three two-team AI's?
Brute force. If it's not working, you're not using enough.

We have a new forum member Malevolent who expressed interest in starting up a succession game. Any takers? We'd probably start with something relatively straightforward and not set the challenge level too high to start with but it really depends on what people would be comfortable with.

That's quite a bump! I could definitely help out for a SG, I've been playing a lot with Stellaris coming out soon.

On an unrelated topic, I'm finishing up a game (2v2, Hiver and I (Zuul) vs 2 Zuul) where both Zuul players had not only SA but also Biome Colonizers as natural tech. One of the Zuul even had Quark Resonators as a natural tech, since they've never engaged with the Hivers nor researched R&S. I wish the Sadorandomizer looked that fondly on me for my Zuul games.

It sounds like fun, but I am without a compatible machine. :(

However, should you want somebody to try to put your notes into a work of fiction, hit me up...

Well between Abyss, Malevolent, and myself, we just need one more interested party to start setting up a game. Any other takers?

I could be down with an SG... getting tired of having the Difficult AIs whip me regularly.
My Morrigi fleet-speed calculator for SotS Prime
The Holy Lands - Hivers vs. the infidel Liir (and others)
Currently working on getting my board game Dragon Raiders into final condition before going to Kickstarter...

Alright Starknight, I'll consider that a signup... providing our original participants are still around, it has been 3 weeks after all.
Abyss, Malevolent, are you both still a go?

If there are still room for more, I would like to participate as well. I know I have been away for a while, but a new SotS Prime SG would be fun.

Sure, ivra, no problem. Waiting to hear from Abyss and/or Malevolent first, though.

Sounds like we have a quorum of at least 4 players then. Any preferences for what sort of game we should set up?
If nobody has any preferences I might set up a 50% economy 150% research game, but I'm very much open to other ideas. And if Malevolent confirms his involvement then I will almost certainly set up something more friendly to newer players.

I can and will play any race, but my least favorite race is Liir. I tend to bring my ships into close battle and fight it out no matter who I play, and I feel kind of handicapped using Liir's slow, fragile, and low fire-powered ships.

I have never tried a high-tech (150%), low-profitable (50%) game before. That should be fun. I have tried putting both on 150% and both on 50%, but not one on each.

I wonder which races are most hurt/favored with this setting, but I think races that earn the least money like Liir and Morrigi would be hurt the most. Not so much Zuul, since they can just build what they want to thrive, and pay back 20-50 turns later...

I'm fine with whatever setup we choose.
