No name for this mod jet. And i am not sure that there will be any...

For now - another complete ship model. A projector cruiser!

This mammoth has a nose-based projector with a 25 degrees cone of fire. In addition it has two medium turrets and four small turrets.

This particular cruiser is armed with a meson projector that fires three accurate long range particles (see pict7 for particle effect) which accumulate damage potential with range and time of travel. This very deadly weapon doesn`t act like traditional projectors (sprayers).

Is this cruiser capable of destroying Dreadnought?

No. But a pack of such cruisers could significantly damage enemy dred on approach. The MP weapon has the same range as photonic torpedoes.

Projectors:

A Meson Projector (non-spray projector weapon. Fires three high velocity particles that accumulates damage per range. Very effective against slow moving targets at long ranges).

A Plasma Spitter (former plasma projector with some adjustments).

A Neutron Blaster (has less deviation than plasma spitter. Does less damage to ships, but is very deadly against planetary population).

An Assault Laser (The only beam weapon based on projectile mount. Does greater damage than basic HCL, but has very slow recharge rate).

A Mauler Device (ultra-heavy fusion cannon that almost always hits its target. Upon hit it produces a tremendous explosion that damages everything in 300p radius. VERY deadly against tight groups of enemies. Damage dramaticaly reduces over range).

Torpedo cruiser:

This cruiser carries four torpedo launchers devided into two torpedo banks. It has only four small turrets and therefore should be protected by escort.

That looks fantastic, and it's great to see, you're making progress!

Just a small thing: why have you decided to use the simpler texture for detonating torpedoes and the more complicated texture for normal torpedoes? Wouldn't one expect that torpedoes with blast damage should produce some kind of shrapnels? (the way a fragmentation grenade looks more "detailed" than a grenade which doesn't project shrapnels). Of course, I know, you can't really compare future torpedoes with old fashioned hand grenades and it's totally your decision!

I agree. It would be better if the normal and detonating torp models were the other way around :)

However in my opinion the larger the container the more powerfull eplosion will be produced...

Make the one for detonating torps stick out slightly then mayby? Or make it longer but as 2 tanks?

in most sci-fi, size is irrelevant! Only the amount of shininess and twiddly-things on a projectile have any bearing on how destructive it is!

(I'm not claiming your mod is like that, but I think that's why everyone prefers the more detailed models as the bigger/better varient. I do too, for the record.)

Cruiser with assault mission section.

This cruiser mission section is armed with one heavy beam, two torpedo launchers, 4 medium turrets and 4 small turrets. It is equally efficient in battles against enemy cruiser groups and fleets of destroyers.

All torpedo launcher tubes and heavy beam barrels could be destroyed as shown on this picture.

Destroyable torp launchers? Wow, that's fantastic! Also your laser weapon looks great (and of course the cruiser itself)!
