xnb file size issue cracked (i think)

Post by MZ0125 » Sat Mar 15, 2014 2:02 pm

Well, I don't know how many people still playing FZ, but I want to share this.

as probably everyone who have attempted to mod FZ know, the file size is a pain in the ass thing when it comes to the config xnbs.

But I think i have found a major lead on how to work with it.

As stated here, http://fortzombie.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Modding, two values need to be dealt with. And the second one at 56-58 is the most baffling one.

Today, i found a clue how to calculate them, and in short:

when adding more bytes to the file, if the value at 56 hits FF, the next value is 80 (plus +1 to the value at 57) instead of 00! And I think this is also true for value at 57, though I havn't checked yet.

This means you could put kbs of extra stuff in the file!

Right now, I'm just gonna mess around with the character template, see if I can create more survivors.

Please try it out and let me know I'm right or not, there might still be something I missed.
