Battlemusic according to context

Post by olmio » Wed Sep 25, 2013 7:24 am

I, or some1 else, might have already suggested this but here it goes anyways.

I suggest that battle music is chosen according to opponent race. Random encounters could feature the music that belongs to players race. Thus player would hear more than one track per game enhancing the gaming experience.

Whenever I assign a Build Station mission to a construction fleet I want to hear: "Heigh-Ho, heigh-ho, it's off to work I go...".

and budget accordingly? sure! ;) People tend to forget that the cost of original music in a game dwarfs other things like voice work and such. So the more tracks you have the pricier it gets. Less of a problem for the PC market is that music takes up a lot of room.

I don't think this is about new music but randomizing the existing music based on opponents. Right? :? That doesn't require a ton of dough does it? Just programmer time which is pretty tight I imagine.
