Carmine Infantino died on April 4th. I only found out when I happened to check out his Wikipedia page today.

Looking through his body of work, I didn't know he created Deadman! A rare character I stumbled upon as a kid. I think Tombstone from Freedom Force was based on him. Will be missed.

A lot of greats (in every field) are getting very old; we're losing more and more talent every year.

As tragic as that is, what's even more tragic is that our society doesn't seem to be replacing them anywhere near the rate we are losing them :(

It may seem that way because all of the low hanging fruit has been picked.

Comics always have a fair number of talented new guys flowing in. I am old enough to remember when Byrne and Claremont were new. And Ellis is just a pup comparatively. ;)

Kirby's grandson is Kickstarting a coffee table book about his grandfather. Looks really interesting. Unfortunately he appears to not have much publishing experience. He's made his goal, but I have no confidence in the book being produced. Especially given the estimated delivery date (July 2013). Hopefully someone will step up and advise him as I'd love to see this book.

There is TONS of very close publisher type people to the Kirby family. Start with mark evanier and go from there.

A friend who liked the previous Marvel movies liked the trailers of GoG but is a bit hesitant to go and watch it because she noticed a lot of trailers gave very few lines to Gamora(one of the only female members of the crew).

What's the actual movie like? (I noticed the french trailers here seemingly gave her a bit more lines than the english ones, though).

As Mecron said, the movie is fun, if you like action movies you'll probably enjoy it.

I'd say Gamorra is probably the second most important member of the Guardians of the Galaxy (from a talkativeness / characterization point of view) after Starlord. Rocket Raccoon is a close third. Drax seemed a little flat, probably because of the kind of character he is. Groot doesn't say much at all, though he does emote a lot.
