New Lost in Space on Netflix

Post by Mecron » Mon Apr 16, 2018 6:44 am

Anyone watching it?

Have binged the first half. So far its a very good study in doing a relevant reboot.

It's out already? Well, guess I'll be watching that soon (tm). I thought it was more like the dark crystal prequel, six months or more away. Good to know!

I liked it (especially their new take on Dr.Smith), but the Jupiter characters outside the Robinson family&Dr.Smith just keep appearing and disappearing randomly and without any explanation of how they get from point A to B. And I find those continuity gaps pretty annoying.

Also, some of the plot points are also extremely contrived (though I won't spoil them. Lets just say they involve freezing).
You can't trust the Liir. Never trust someone that smiles all the time.

lol watch the original...its meant to be approachable. And yeah I think Dr Smith might be the first conniving woman villain not dependent on sex appeal on TV

So, in the first five minutes of lost in space, was I the only one that noticed that the displays were in meters, but the audio readout is in feet? No wonder why they crashed!

I liked it a lot more than I expected. My only head scratcher is why did the robot ship just disappear when they dropped them off in the last episode? Why did they leave the engine, heh.

Not done watching yet. 5 episodes in. But I'm liking it a lot so far. Villain is a good one.

Yeah. No cartoon maniacal laughs or stroking of curled mustaches here.

I really appreciate the nuance and narrative with Dr. Smith. A lot of layers there to mull over.

If I ran in to her in a well lit front alley, I would run in the opposite directly without hesitation.

She seems almost too good a villain for the show if that makes any sense.
