The Final Word on 'Nazis Super Science'

Post by Mecron » Fri Nov 09, 2018 7:59 pm

Yay, I have found my definitive rebuttal to all those nazis saucer asshats...

"In 1940 I could at least fly as far as Glasgow in most of my aircraft, but not now! It makes me furious when I see the Mosquito. I turn green and yellow with envy. The British, who can afford aluminium better than we can, knock together a beautiful wooden aircraft that every piano factory over there is building, and they give it a speed which they have now increased yet again. What do you make of that? There is nothing the British do not have. They have the geniuses and we have the nincompoops. After the war is over I’m going to buy a British radio set – then at least I’ll own something that has always worked. "
--Reichsmarchall Herman Goring
(on the DeHavilland Mosquito in a lecture to German aircraft manufacturers.)

Well played but you know you're always going to lose to those folks. I mean we can't even teach 'flat earthers' that they are not onto something.

Perhaps not but I think the arguments generally stem from the same place.

A pretty elaborate chain yank though by what I'm seeing in the video.

The interesting part about the mosquito is that...everyone outside De Havilland itself (and his friends at the war ministry) who saw the plans for the plane hated it, and in the UK only thing that got it to the testing stage was the fact that a. Wood and woodworkers were underutilized in the british war industry (as opposed to steel and aluminium, which was at a premium) b. Ol' Geoffrey De Havilland himself put his reputation on the line.

Once it was built and the kinks were worked out however pretty much everyone that saw it in action loved it, mostly because it was fast, very maneuverable for a plane that size and relatively fast and easy to make (and used in pretty much every fighter-bomber role imaginable, but in the war and in the post-war conflicts).

I heard they found the complete designs for the Mosquito last year during an old factory demolition, and that they're building a few new examples of it.

People always find times for their hobbies. Some hobbies are just a little more peculiar (and/or offputting) than others. ;)

Who Let The Bugs Out -- Hiver vs. Tarka and Zuul
Tarka Ascendant -- Tarka vs. Hiver and Zuul
