A lot of people still hold him up as a fine example of a president.

One idiocy doesn't make a bad president, or there is no good president.

That's not the point. Most of usa president since independance were probably racists. Can we say that every of them were bad presidents? That's just anachronic... And we, with our good conscience, have surely plenty of things that future generations will despise. Don't be narrow minded with past people and past mentality

Right so I'm gonna guess your'e also not a victim of the "war on drugs" waged by this president and the huge number of blacks and minorities that were incarcerated for decades versus their white counter parts or shot and killed wrongfully.

It sure must be nice to sit other other side of that fence and say "Gee...that wasn't so bad. What are you all getting so worked up about?" When none of it happened to you.

Is that too hard to say: in that's way he was good in other he was bad. Like people are not totaly bad or good but a mix of both? Eventually you can say the bad overcome the good, like i will say without shame for dictators like Hitler or Staline.
But one more time, people are complex, and it's audacious to generalise....

yeah...definitely white, male and not old enough to have any first person memory of reagan.

Here is another interpretation... People are complex, people can evolve...and people who talk crap like that in the shadows are ALWAYS monsters until they have some sort of epiphany. Also that bit you want to throw in there that Hitler and Stalin did good at the beginning...yeah not gonna float.

Ok, last answer in this thread for me because it's no use. Yes, i dont know Reagan well, i'm not american after all. I don't juge people on one criteria. That's all. If you want to say that Reagan don't have good points at all, it's up to you. But i'm just saying: one point is not enough to juge. See you!

You're still judging based on limited and incomplete data. I'd suggest considering the possibility that people more familiar with him may have a more complete judgement than you, and you should really drop the holier-than-thou attitude.

Because what you're describing there is exactly what you did wrong. Yes, you do judge people on one criterion. You just don't realise it.

Its funny how all these standing on these philosophical high ground points ONLY come up in the defense of White Dudes of power. You never see a guy like les show up and say "Hey that Malcom X guy was scarey for white folks sometimes but he had a lot of good qualities."

Well now that would break the mold.

It would be a little too balanced.
