Something tells me that putting too many massive, deadly energy beam guns on a ship with a tiny energy source is going to be a one shot wonder with a really a long recharge time!

I wonder if there will be a true CR spinal mount in SotS2...

I know, Impactors, sorta... COL/Projector... also sorta.

Something that would be a Huge Turret on a Leviathan, but spinally mounted on a CR.
Would be bigger than a Heavy Beam...

So will there be the possibility of storing energy in some kind of capacitor, so a ship can start off a fight in good shape, lose steam in an extended engagement? Or is it more like your reactor tech determines how many power-hungry weapons you can mount before your recharge rate starts to suffer?

Critical hits are an important part of combat these days, to techs that lead to more robust systems also have a big effect.

Huh. I wonder, if we're going to have to worry about the energy consumption of energy weapons in some capacity, are we also going to have some concern in form or another for ammunition capacity on ballistic weapons?
The teacher cut in smoothly, "Yes, of course. SolForce never fails to remind us how necessary they are to our...'survival'. ... It amazes me that the human race ever managed to exist, before you lot came along."

Cai Rui smiled thinly. "What amazes me is how quickly the human race could cease to exist, if we were gone."

Will there be damage control? A tech that allowed one to add a module which repaired damage during battle (or between) and also lowered the probability of critical hits (or reduced the chance they would be catastrophic). Good damage control procedures has often been the difference between a ship being lost or not.

Not sure if this is in the right place and/or if it's complete fantasy but...the Liir have a fair understanding of the techniquies involved with teleportation. Will they ever use this tech for things such as ship boarding or as a weapon?

@balti knights

The Liir teleport is thousands of micro-transports per meter moved...

not sure how that can be used for boarding, but there may be a weapon use.

But we already have Meson Beams.
