Will we be seeing pollution & environmental devastation as a result of having way too many factories and overharvesting going on?

i know we are getting stations again. probably the same we had in sots prime. but are we also getting strategic industrial stations in systems? like actual shipyards or a astroid mining foundry and stuff like that?

Dont remember where Mec stated it, but I do remember him mentioning something about naval yards or somesuch? and that they play an important role in ship production now.. So perhaps its along the lines of what you are thinking.

Will we have transmuters, like in Foundation by Issac Azimov? Yes their transmuters had problems making their use limited, but since we can research quark resonators ... maybe transmuting elements with massive proton and neutron particle beams or something is not too far off.

But transmuters would break the game, making resources almost irrelevant.

But maybe only the Suul'ka get them  to make up for the fact that the Zuul eat the resources up.

Mobile naval yards would be a lot of fun. 8)

Check out the Zuul Devourer DN in SotS 1. It will almost certainly be back in SotS2 and other races may be able to develop similar mobile construction ships. Otherwise... well construction cruisers will definitely be in for base construction.

I've never tried Zuul - maybe I should have a go soon if I have time.

Actually, that could be an interesting modular option for leviathans - given their size, I'd imagine it would be possible for them to have some construction capabilities if provided with sufficient resources. Possibly just cruisers but still... Also works with their whole fleet command role... :)

Go and look at pictures of the actual dockyards that actually produce cruisers....then think about fitting all of that into a ship...even a 900 meter one....AND still having room for engines....and people....and the stuff to make ships with. The word "modular" does not leap to mind.

Nah, I kind of assumed that if there were something like that in SotS 2, it would be a special-built item, kind of like Constructor ships are in SotS 1.
