SoTS II TechTree Chart

[Grzech]

Remember those huge charts that shown all techs in SoTS 1?
Well, here is one for SoTS II !


I made it not even looking at the tree in game as I were never able to research it completly so some techs might be arranged diffently than in game but its not a big problem.

Work on Version 3 has started.
This version will introduce tech icons, descriptions and links to sots2 wiki.

Sadly I have no FTP to put it on so I'll just put all required files in .zip as an attachment here, you can view it in any broswer (tested on Firefox and Chrome) by opening Techtree.html in main folder, img foler contains all required images including icons and techtree background.

Currently only Energy Weapons tree has been upgraded to v3, other trees are displayed as were in v2, check it out yourself

I've added legend, %'s for links, changed font size or enlarged tech cubes to make names fit, swapped the line for colored links and techs, it's easier to read this way, and colored core technologies.

I think I won't add icons to techs, if you know the icon you probably also know its name and in reversed case you can just check SoTS wiki to see what this tech does and its icon.


If you have researched whole or almost whole tree (as in one discipline, not whole forest) in game it would help me a lot to position techs if you could post its sceenshot here

Quick question, is there any way you can increase dpi? When I zoom in the colors and numbers get blurry. Their is a sweet spot that only takes a sec to to resize on my tablet to see fairly clearly so if you can't it's ok. Really huge image! Keep up the good work!

That's probably just the effect of JPEG compression. Compare it to the PNG one.

Yeah that makes a fair bit of difference. Guess I just need to be more patient until the entire chart is completeted.

Well, when I'm resizing this everything is still readable to it might be your tablet fault (or program you're viewing it in).

I could add some shadow or something like that, resizing it at this point is impossible.

Okay, so I checked again and it seems imgur changes my .png to .jpg and thus the blurring.
I'll test other sites.

Blue, give the man some slack, he did a great job with the tree so far. And I'm preaty sure he won't stop here.
Maybe some time in the future we will get a simillar tech tree to the one for ANY if we'll be nice to Grzech;)
