Very Heavy Turrets

Post by EVWeb » Wed Feb 13, 2013 9:06 am

I'm curious as to why you can't get Chakram or Antimatter Cannons on Very Heavy Turrets. It seems annoying since you're stuck with beams even if you don't like beams but want energy weapons.

They're intentionally slanted towards kinetics using factions for now.

Not to mention that the heavy cannon line wouldn't make a terrible lot of sense in that configuration. Maybe they'll develop more suitable weapons later.

Very Heavy Antimatter Turrets would be like not tracking, high rof torps.

I would call them OBLITERATORS. :insane:

I would like to see a energy battlecannon putting out a constant stream of fire.

Use projectors, that's pretty close.

You can put them in VH turrets?

Nope, they are a special mount on a dedicated section. Just saying they seem to fit the description of what you want so you will probably not see a VH Turret weapon that does virtually the same thing. Though I would love it if they switched the projector section for a VHT projector option, or at least make it something you could mount on a non-dedicated hull, like an LV or a War DN with VHT mounts.

I'd have to agree that something like Chakram should be placed there, if only to give energy races an even chance.

Well, that's pretty much the problem. Meson beams are great... if you get them. And you have no alternatives to beams in the energy weapon tree.

No alternative to beams for VHTs, that is.

Last I checked Heavy Emitters can be slotted in those turrets as well.
