Struggling to get motivated to finish this up. LOA are like a foreign language to me so play testing my changes is a chore. I have a few days off over the next week. Hoping to use some of that time to bang out the LOA ship sections. Think I'm good with the weapons at this point. Hopefully made everything have at least some value.

Is there a reason repair sections don't repair anymore? This mod is very confusing without some docs, and required reading the source files to understand what the new stuff does.

Can I get a hand here? I want to run the mod with JSGME, however I'm getting a crash during startup.

I have made a clean install, pasted the JSGME folder on me main drive and set the start directory for the JSGME shortcut to be the main folder of SOTSII. I then copied the freshly downloaded 1.5 version SOTS II Reforged to a "MODS" folder in the main game directory. Through JSGME I activated the mod. I then try to run the game which crashes during loading screen with the steam logo on it.

Hi, for me it helped to deactivate the "movie backround" in the options before i activate the SOTS II Reforged Mod.

I've only recently found out about this mod and a new spark lit up in my eyes!

I love many concepts about SOTS II which were never really reproduced anywhere else and with this mod I'm hoping to have the game somehow finished or (re)playable really, what the original developers could never do. (TBH I think they should give another try to this franchise somehow)

So thank you for the hard work you've put into this, I'm gonna try this out soon!

Only one question I had: will you ever really finish this MOD, adamut100? :?

Its not our game right now to do anything with, ravic. Also we could have done it just fine had funding arrived as originally promised.

Unfortunately, the first thing all the races do is prototype their Armor class to max damage (which is usually ballistics and missiles). This makes LOA's prototype Armor waaaayy under-supplied. Plus they favor red lasers to their existing UV lasers to for some weird reason.

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but wanted to put this here in case someone runs into it via Google or other search. Cheers!

EDIT:
Console shows that the LOA ship designer is evaluating its prototype for PLANET_ATTACK weapon roles. I'll have to check to see if this can be tweaked per racial weapon affinity.

EDIT2:
PLANET_ATTACK looks straight at pop damage then a multiplier is added based on tech affinity and BRAWLER status. Removed BRAWLER from red lasers, so now picking UV properly. As to HVY DRVR vs Particle Beam, they had same scores after affinity bonuses, so added 5 (500005) to the population damage to make it win the tie (might affect other races but energy should win for energy affinity races). As for missiles, well, they just kill too much population to win out against plasma cannon no matter what. Guess LOA will have to research better mid turret weapons for their PLANET_ATTACK fleets.

Yep, I messed up when I made that comment. I think the issue back then was that sometimes its case sensitive and sometimes it ain't.

You need to disable the main menu combat otherwise it will CTD upon load.
