(To Moderators of the T.A.R. Section of the Kerberos Forums, If this does sort of thing does not belong in the T.A.R. Section, Please let me know and I will remove it right quick.)

Today is a sad day for the Imperium of Man, the Tenth Defense Fleet, which was stationed in the System Cargg, has been destroyed. After numerous desperate battles, during which half the fleet was lost and rebuilt (Formerly the First Defense Fleet), the Tenth Defense Fleet has been completely destroyed.

Details are sketchy but from what Command can tell us, the Zuul have developed and deployed their first dreadnought, armed to the Teeth with Bursters, they tore through the outdated SFS Sabres that comprised the bulk of the Tenth Defense Fleet. For those of us just joining in this news, Cargg holds the protectorate species Uttuku, and their Homeworld of Cargg 3, the Zuul have been fervent in their assault of Cargg, which also holds our colony Cargg 1 and the Science Facility "Independent Studies".

Admiral Brania Congo, who hails from our Provincial Capital of Prion died along with the rest of her fleet, after 40 years of honorable service.

Recently retired Admiral Morrigan Russel has this to say on the situation, "Good for nothing Swamp Monsters, I don't even know why we are defending them, it's a planet humanity could be using, money in our pockets, a place for our race to expand and grow, frankly if I had it my way, we would have just glassed it and moved on."

Director Loken promises to seek peace with the Tarka to focus on this new, greater Zuul threat.

Update - Command has released the names of the ships which were lost in the Battle for Cargg,

The Six SFS Sabres (Armor Class) - SFS Tobruk I, SFS Telemachus, SFS Graf Spee, SFS Euryalus, SFS Nige, SFS Caroline I

The Two SFS Hoods (Supply Class) - SFS Naniwa, SFS Fabert,

The Single Excalibur (Point Defense Class) - SFS Hiei

The Single Saratoga (Repair and Salvage Class) - SFS Snake,

And the Single SFS Patton (Command Class) - SFS Anzio,

In total, Six Hundred and Eleven men and women lost their lives. Our hearts go out their families.

That concludes this Evenings News.

Breaking News - Imperial News at Six.

Director Loken spoke today in front of all thirteen colonies on the situation regarding the Cargg War. He had this to say, "People of the Imperium, the losses we suffered at Cargg have been great, but we will recover. If you have the guts, the nerve, and the power to do so, I encourage you to enlist into our army, we will need every able bodied man and woman we can get."

Imperial News Agent Gebbert Mahir Nicotera, asked Director Loken the following question, "Sir, we have reports you have been in contact with the Tarkasian Forces, has there been any news on that?"

Director Loken gave a disheartening response, "I am sad to announce that the Tarka have given into Zuul threats and joined the Zuul in a Non Aggression Pact, the Tarka have no intention of signing a Peace, Cease Fire, or Non Aggression Pact with us."

- You heard it here first everyone, The Tarka have allied themselves with the Zuul horde against our Imperium.

On a more positive note, Director Loken has announced the creation of a new class of ship, created using the latest and greatest of our technology, The SFS Titan. The Titan is a Barrage Cruiser with a state of the Art Deflector Command Module, Director Loken hopes that this Titan will tide us over until we can unleash dreadnoughts of our own on the Zuul.

We managed to contact the Captain of the first SFS Titan, named the SFS Titan, Vladimir Anastasio Kopp, and received a quote from him on the situation. He had this to say, "I doubt those Tarka or Zuul will know what they are in for, they have been loading all their ships up with Bursters, Sniper Cannons and Missiles, the New Titans are more than a match for them."

We pressed for more information regarding what kind of weaponry the SFS Titan carried, and he was more than happy to oblige, "The SFS Titan Carries two Heavy Combat Lasers, Two Photon Torpedo Turrets, Four Plasma Cannons, Two Missile Launchers, Two Heavy Missile Launcher Bays and a Total of Seven UV Laser Batteries. She is the most advanced Ship in any of our fleets. She also has a brand new technology which is a Auxiliary Fusion module attached to the Engine Block, which allows her the use of so many energy weapons, equipped also with the newest Engine Block Type, and Magno Ceramic Latices the SFS Titan is a war machine like no other. I'd wager not even the Zuul Dreadnought could stand up to this baby."

While the Captain may be boasting a bit on that last part, we feel confident that Director Loken and all the brave men and women out there will lead us to victory and peace.

That is all for this evening's News. If you would like to Enlist, leave your name and preference of occupation and send it to Imperial Recruiting offices.

The Official Imperial News Agency is also looking for Artists, if you think you have what it takes to make a Enlistment Poster please send it into our station. You could win a substantial cash prize.

Man, that sucks. The Tarks throwing in with the Zuul(?!?!). Did Admiral Russell get upbraided for his unfortunate remarks about the Tarkas?

(Retired Admirals are not subject to pressure from the Imperium's officials unless they give away important secrets, also on a side note the Retired Admiral was talking about the Uttuku)

More Breaking News From The Capital of Prion -

This just in, following the destruction of the Colony of Star Haven, Director Loken has authorized the first of a series of changes which will culminate in a Stimulus system. The Imperium is now giving out 100,000 Credits and 200,000 Credits towards Civilian Trade and Colonization efforts respectively.

The first group called the "Recolonize Haven Initiative" has proclaimed it's mission statement which is to obviously, recolonize Star Haven, despite all pleas for reason by Imperial Officials, Director Loken says he will allow them to do it, but they should expect no help from his forces.

Onto the news you actually care about, the Colony of Star Haven, was destroyed by a seemingly random Von Neumon Seeker attack, we can only presume that the Tarka who once inhabited the system destroyed a Von Neumon Mothership and during the time between then and our colonization efforts the Mysterious Von Neumon sent a seeker back to the system to destroy the Former Tarka Threat.

Our hearts go out to the People who had family on the colony of Star Haven.

In related news Director Loken's top advisers are reportedly pulling in quite literally in half, Defense, Economic and Foreign Advisers are demanding Director Loken focus on the Zuul threat, while internal affairs and mystery advisers are demanding that he focus on finding and destroying the Von Neumon Homeworld, before they become to strong for us to stop. It is currently unclear on what Director Loken will decide, but in our humble opinion, we feel the focus should be on the Zuul who threaten us every day.

To end off today's news we have a question for you viewers, how do you feel about the new Stimulus System? Would you risk your life colonizing a world outside of the Imperium's Protection? Or as a independent trader knowing full well that the Imperium's forces are under no obligation to protect you.

Twelve O Clock Update - Director Loken has officially declared Star Haven off limits to any and all people until such a time that the Von Neumon threat can be destroyed, rights groups say that Director Loken is going back on his word about true liberty, the Director says it is for everyone's safety. Rights Groups argue that if we allow the Director to do this now, where will he stop. Tune in tomorrow for a full discussion featuring Acting Admiral Gaius Youngblood, Current Admiral of the First Experimental Fleet, as well as Defense Adviser Petri Albrektson, and Economy Adviser Valeria Siena, on the actions of Director Loken.

As well as details on the First Experimental Fleets first sortee and target.

Welcome to Imperial News at Noon this is Brandon Santangelo reporting on the debate on Director Loken's newest policy changes.

For those of us just joining us, Director Loken last month initiated the a stimulus system which allows for civilians to set out on trade ventures as well as colonization ventures, later that month Director Loken forbid people from colonizing the System of Star Haven. Star Haven is under enemy Von Neumon control and he claims that if people are going to be stupid he might as well just cancel the stimulus plan right now. Rights groups argue that allowing Director Loken to decide where people may go to colonize is an affront to their rights.

Joining us today is Admiral Gaius Youngblood, Admiral of the First Experimental Fleet, Defense Adviser Petri Albrektson, and Economy Adviser Valeria Siena, in a discussion about recent actions by the Imperium. Topics involve the glassing of Aaryn 1 a Tarka Colony, the assault of Pyrrus 1 and it's naval station, and the secret mission of the First Experimental Fleet, as well as the discussion on Director Loken's new policy change.

On the first topic which was Director Loken's policy changes, Admiral Gaius Youngblood decided to remain mostly silent for personal reasons, only adding, "What Director Loken says is true, our forces cannot risk destroying the Von Neumon Seeker at Star Haven at this time, we don't have the forces or resources to fight off a Von Neumon Berserker which is sure to follow in it's wake. And anyone who argues that he is just trying to restrict your liberties is a fool who wants to rush off to their death."

Defense Adviser Petri Albrektson added, "I agree Admiral Youngblood, the Von Neumon cannot be the focus of our efforts at this time, we destroy their probes when they come around, and they mostly leave us alone otherwise, The Zuul and Tarka on the other hand are pressing our borders, The Zuul attacked the System of Bob earlier this month and the Tarka are pressing the System of Gotham in retaliation for our pressing and destroying the system of Aaryn. Thankfully we have defense fleets stationed at both of those border systems and no ships or people were lost. We lost the Saint Roche defense platform at Bob but that is a minor problem compared to what could have happened otherwise."

And Economy Adviser Valeria Siena, in a turnaround of her previous statement added, "I disagree with both of you, if we do not take Star Haven the Tarka or Zuul will, given them a superb location to launch strikes from. If they were to make a base there, and clear out the Von Neumon, than they would even be able to hit the Core Worlds, which are lightly defended. Even if it is just an independent colony, it would give us some kind of warning, which is better than nothing."

The Defense Adviser and Economic Adviser argued for the next twenty minutes on matters of priority, but eventually agreed that no consensus could be reached on the subject. We decided to move onto the next topic which was the first mission of the secretive First Experimental Fleet, including what the fleet is, and what if anything could be said about it's purpose.

Admiral Gaius Youngblood, the kind man that he is, was very open with us on the matter, he had this to say, "Thank you for your question Mr. Santangelo, my fleet, the First Experimental Fleet, is mostly older ships that have been rebuilt with new engine blocks, it's mission is to dive straight into Zuul Territory and see how well they hold up, and to see what kinks the new designs have in them, as well as to cause Havoc with the Zuul worlds and infrastructure. Further the mission is not as secretive as you make it out to be, it is more that the system of Bob, which sees very few orders received the bulk of the Prototyping Funds, and people speculated from there that something new was going on. And no, I can dispel all rumors about it right now, There are no dreadnoughts in my new fleet, they are all brand new Cruisers, further those of you who have been talking about the so called "Assault on Pyyrus 1" That was indeed my fleet, though it was more of a strike, none of our ships were destroyed, no Zuul ships were destroyed, however we did manage to destroy a level three naval station hosting several fleets of Zuul. Their infrastructure should be in disarray for some time."

---------

Following the discussion Director Loken had his second address to the public for the year. It had to do with the new allegations that the reason the Tarka have joined the Cargg war on the side of the Zuul due to his orders to bomb and destroy the colonies of Star Haven and Aaryn 1 when they were in the hands of the Tarka. Director Loken had this to say, "I can understand where everyone is coming from on this matter, from where most people stand, they will be able to make a correlation there, that our destroying the Tarka Colonies lead to the Tarka declaring war on us. But I must say this is most assuredly false. The Tarka launched a surprise attack on us, sending a Fleet from Formerly Tarka Held Gotham to our colony of York in the System of Cargg. There they launched a sneak attack on our naval facility, and started their war on us. The Tarka joining the Zuul is nothing but an act of cowardice, not being able to finish something they started. That is all."

Much discussion has been started on online forums about Director Loken's response, many are supporting him, but many others are drawing parallels between what he said and propaganda from Old Earth's World War 1 and World War 2. That's all from me, Santangelo out.

Imperial News at Six - Your best source for Imperial and War News

Last week Director Loken announced that Soror had it's new Trade Station opened, people are quite excited as he has made the following statement regarding the station, "People of the Imperium, opportunities arise at the system of Soror, the Imperium's stimulus system will allow you to try to get your chance to earn a fortune, we will not be building any Empire Owned Freighters. Gather a good crew, and get trading. However, Imperial Forces are not to be held responsible for any loss of life, pirates are out there, if we can help you, should you be attacked we will, but we cannot escort your trading vessels around."

According to our poll people have mixed reactions to Director Loken's statement, while most people are pleased that the Stimulus system is good for something, others are very upset that the Director basically said "Do our work for us, with all of the risk, but none of the benefits." Meanwhile, other people are saying they don't care because it is an opportunity at earning quite a bit of money.

Whatever you decide potential traders, we here at The Imperial News Station wish you luck and hope you come home safely.

------------------------

In other news, Director Loken has announced a day of celebration, the now identified Zuul Dreadnought, named Invictus, the very same dreadnought responsible for the destruction of the tenth Defense Fleet, has been destroyed by the sixth Defense fleet from Gotham. The sixth Defense Fleet suffered grave loses, during the battle for Gotham, in which the Zuul invaded the System of Gotham.

Notably, the SFS Calliope Engaged the Invictus head on, somehow managing to survive a whole two minutes, which allowed the SFS Phoenix, SFS Caroline, SFS Emden, SFS Mykale I, and Excalibur to focus on the engine block of the Invictus. Once the engine block of the Invictus was destroyed, the remaining ships in the fleet shot off heavy turrets of the Invictus making it defenseless, and finally destroyed it.

The SFS Calliope, a SFS Sabre class ship which had been in service for 246 years, holding 51 Men and Women, was destroyed, Director Loken has declared flags to flown at half staff for their sacrifice, and Captain Ron Nicchi and all of the crew of SFS Calliope are to be hailed as heroes for their acts of bravery and valor.

While the invading Zuul fleet did manage to get away from the remaining sixth Defense Fleet, who were badly damaged, Director Loken still hailed the fight as a victory, showing the Zuul that their dreadnoughts are no match for Humanity's strength and courage. On the eve of this news enlistment skyrocketed, with people from every colony trying to join the Armed Forces. Director Loken has announced a contest, send in suggestions for the name of the ship that will replace the SFS Calliope and it will be entered in drawing to be used as the name of the brand new SFS Sabre Mark 3 which will replace the Calliope.

Good night citizens of the Imperium, remember to thank your service men and women, and if you know any of the people from the 6th Defense fleet, or any of their family or friends, be sure to pass along a thanks from us.

Imperial News at Midnight - Your Best Source for Imperial and War News.

Last month the First Experimental Fleet and Eleventh Defense Fleet launched an Attack of the Zuul Horde colonies of the Uxor System. Uxor 2 specifically was targeted. During the course of the fighting, a Zuul Boarding party managed to capture and take over the Experimental Enterprise Mark Three. Considerable damage was dealt to the infrastructure and population base of Uxor 2 but ultimately the two fleets were recalled to their home system of Bob due to a Tarka incursion.

On the home front, a Invasion Fleet sent by the Zuul Horde to the Cargg system tore up the remnants of the Sixth Defense Fleet, a fleet full of nothing but Bursters, quite literally just tore the unshielded Sixth Defense Fleet apart. To our luck, only two SFS Sabres, the SFS York and SFS England were destroyed in combat, and Six Zuul Ships were destroyed instead, hopefully this will teach the Zuul a lesson about diversity.
--------------------------------

In other news Director Loken has formally resigned today at the age of 78. His successor Director Gaius, formerly Admiral Gaius, has been chosen and officially taken the reigns of the Imperium. This smooth transition between Directorships has been a welcome change from how Director Loken took hold of the position, which included a brief "Civil War", in which Ex-Director Santangelo and his two top advisers tried to retain the position long past what the vast majority of the population thought him capable of.

Director Gaius had this to say, "Greetings people of the Imperium, I promise to do everything in my power to end these bloody wars, to increase the amount of trade our Imperium produces, and to secure our borders to the best of my ability. Further, with this announcement, I would also like to announce the Imperium's first Dreadnought, the SFS Hiruyu, with this great machine on our side, we will surely convince the Tarka to at the least agree to a cease fire agreement."

Our reporters asked Director Gaius if there was any truth to the rumors that the Director had a relationship with a Female Morrigi before the Morrigi left this sector. Here is Director Gaius' Statement on the matter, "Yes, there is truth to that, they were some of the happiest years of my life, but I could not, nor will I ever leave the Imperium, she was my lover, but the Imperium is my home, though if she were to come back, I would still welcome her back into Imperial Space, I do wish I could see her again sometimes however."

Following the announcement people hit the internet with their various opinions, many saying that Director Gaius is a Alien Sympathizer, many others wondering if Director Gaius was tricked into falling in love with the unnamed Morrigi Woman, due to their high level of psionic potential. All our station has to say about it, is that the Imperium is in no way xenophobic, and we have always except Aliens within our borders as long as they contribute to society.

That is all for tonight's news everyone, have a nice night.

Greetings Citizens, Welcome to the Imperial News Network, Special Friday Edition -

The Citizens of the Imperium are in an uproar over the advances Director Gaius Youngblood has made four our Imperium. Over the last few days the Tarkasian Diplomat has confirmed that our two Empires officially have signed a Cease Fire agreement. Political analysts have to wonder what this means for the Zuul-Tarka Alliance that Ex-Director Loken had talked about during his time as the leader of our Imperium. Though I think we can all agree that this is a wonderful first step for our new Director, as we are no longer fighting a two side war and may in fact lead to an alliance with the Tarka against the Zuul in the future.

However in the interest of balanced reporting we have invited a political analyst whom many describe as cynical he had this to say, "All throughout recorded history, people have done this, it isn't hard to imagine the Tarkasian people would do it as well. Which is to say, they are asking for peace only to replenish their numbers, forces, and weapons of war to unleash on us later, frankly, if they really are so weak, we should just attack them now and get it done with, we can take their planets, and use them to supply us with fresh recruits and more income for our war against the Zuul."

When Director Gaius heard about this he asked us if he may comment on the situation, and we were overjoyed to get him on the program he had this to say, "I appreciate what the good sir has to say on the matter, however I don't think he understands how big a threat the Zuul Horde and Suul'ka are, it is not a war we should want to take on alone, and it is certainly not my intention to commit genocide on a people that no longer wish to fight."

We here at the Imperial News Network are very much in agreement with the Director, there is no good reason to continue our war with the Tarka if they are willing to stop attacking us.

-------------------------

In other news the Director has announced that due to the positive news with the Tarka, he can fully commit four fleets to attacking the Zuul controlled System of Uxor, three new fleets, named Thirteenth Defense Fleet, Second Experimental Fleet, and First Repair Fleet, have been commissioned and went out to attack the Uxor System. Initial news was negative, many people saying that the mission was doomed to failure, like the Invasion of Uxor launched by then Director Loken, however when the first official reports came in from Uxor, it turned out that the invasion went spectacularly well, the Zuul Horde Colony of Uxor 2, has been completely destroyed, along with Two Mining Stations, and Four Missile Platforms.

The three fleets that took part in the invasion of the Uxor System recieved no losses, though the Catalina Mark Two was severely damaged in the assault, and was repaired upon returning to it's base in the System of Bob. Director Gaius personally oversaw the repairs and thanked all the crew. Though, we now have reports that Fifteen of the Sixty Four Crew were killed in the destruction of the Catalina's Mission Section. May those who knew those brave souls rest easy tonight, knowing that their sons, daughters, wives, and husbands, were the bravest of us, and their sacrifice will forever be remembered.

Director Gaius has promised to hold a memorial for all the people killed in the Cargg War in three months, and a new ship the SFS Agamemnon a brand new type of ship will be made to commemorate the event, the ship will take a tour through all the worlds in the Imperium and then finally put onto the front lines with it's three accompanying battle riders, the SFS Freedom, SFS Justice, and SFS Hero.

--------------------------

That is all for tonight's news, have a nice night citizens.

Greetings Citizens, Welcome to the Imperial News Network, this is reporter Maria Santangelo, and this is today's News -

Over the last six months recently appointed Director Gaius Youngblood, has been in constant talks with the Tarkasian Emissary over the idea of advancing the Cease Fire to a Non-Agression pact, and the Tarka appear to have finally agreed, Though we could not reach the Tarkasian Diplomat aboard the Consulate Station named "Peace", Director Gaius had this to say, "Today is a historic day for Human-Tarka Relations, the Tarka seem to have taken to the resignation of Director Loken to heart and have seen that we are willing to stand hand in hand to defeat the monstrous Zuul. We will win this war, and we will secure our lands. For the Imperium!"

Station analysts heartily agree with Director Gaius's words, saying that the Non-Aggression treaty is a much needed assurance that the Tarka will not attack us while our backs are turned, it was especially important says Director Gaius when deciding if he should really commit three full fleets to invading Uxor or just one or two. The three fleets were needed to win the battle for Uxor I, in which the Admirals of the Second Experimental Fleet, Thirteenth Defense Fleet, and First Repair Fleet, destroyed the Zuul Naval, Tribute, and Civilian station as well as the Colony of Uxor I, and several defense Platforms and a Construction fleet that was there to service one of the Zuul Stations.

Amazingly, no Imperial Ships were damaged or destroyed, with the exception of the SFS Patton Mark Four, which was heavily damage but managed to limp back to the First Repair fleet for a overhaul and seal.

In Further Tarka Related News, the Tarka seem to be more agreeable lately, and the Director is looking forward to trying to establish and keeping a Peace Treaty.

-----------------------------

In other news, Imperial Scientists have announced the early breakthrough of the Imperium's latest technology, Anti-Matter Engines and Generators, this new technology is a great leap forward for the Imperium's domestic, and military programs, just imagine the vast amounts of energy that could be produced at home with Anti-matter Generators and reactors, things are looking up for the Imperium!

People on Prion are calling this a Miracle of Modern Science and Imperial ingenuity, but various starting colonies are calling into question how safe the Reactors are, which our analysts say is a fair argument, but still are completely unfounded, Imperial Researchers Guarantee that the Anti-Matter reactors are completely safe when they are placed on a planet, the only time they are at all dangerous, is when they have been excessively shot at, so really we should just feel bad for the Men and Women out in space.

The final piece of news for today is that Director Gaius Youngblood has ordered all the current ships to be retrofitted with Anti-Matter Engine Blocks, to increase response speed, as well as to offer more weaponry to the crew members aboard those ships. Our prayers are with you, you brave Service Men and Women. We hope you come home safely.

Goodnight, and we hope you tune in tomorrow, when the news day isn't so slow.
