In the News

Every Colonist has heard the tales of The Pit. Some say it doesn't exist. Some say it does. All agree only a fool would go looking for it.

Yeah unfortunately derivative game design is what often falls in people's 'Comfort Zone'. They don't need to learn new systems... they don't need to dig in and try to understand something new and interesting... just sit down and understand everything instantly and focus on the shiny.

Personally I enjoy learning and understanding new gameplay systems... but I'm not always in the majority on that point I think.

I call this SIADHD, Self Imposed Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (Not making fun of the people or the disorder. Best describes how I see this.). I don't see anything wrong with learning something new. Its like most games a made from the same templates. I can see the reason behind this. But, people get trained to do things one way and seem to have resist learning or trying something new. But, like something new every once in a while.#>

In the upcoming update though we have added a couple things to make it more friendly. ;)

Huh, how are you guys going to push out this update, and are you talking about the Easter update that you've mentioned?

Personally, after one run where I died with an inventory full of random crafting stuff I ended up randomly experimenting whenever I could, and discovered Diagnostic chips that way. Really, when your life expectancy is that short and those items have literally no other use I don't see why people don't just experiment with random crafting anyways.

If we've got the game via GG, can we get the same copy via Steam?

Yeah, learning and experimenting is one of the most interesting aspects of games!

Hmm, The Pit doesn't seem to be on metacritic yet...
