Suulka even corporial?

Post by adamshattuck1985 » Wed Nov 24, 2010 1:37 pm

Was watching Ghost Busters and thought could the suulka be Gozer The Gozerian wannabees?
I know the liir "bio-weapon" erased them from the sots universe, but what if the bio weapon was not a bio-weapon but a vaccine for the mind control of the suulka?
If this could be assumed then without "slave" body's they would not manifest.
Thought about it a little but kinda thought it would be silly to have a race that has uber power but must have a corporeal host to even be of use, but i Thought screamer could mean being possessed would cause an ESP type race to hear the victim screaming in there mind as a suulka being takes over and literally tears there soul away.
What do you think? any evidence to dispute my idea or support it as i am pretty lazy and get confused on the sots story at times.
thanks.
And i say to thee, ACM Mod is great! now go forth an propagate!

Reviving a largely dead thread...

Curious.

I had thought of this myself, mostly because there has been no evidence yet mentioned in either cut scenes nor any as of yet presented background arcana.

Think, if the scene at the end of Antiquarians implies that the ships were Suul'ka in design (or origin or somehow involved with their destructive presence), there should have been some mention of biological debris to indicate a presence. According to the history as described thus far, the Suul'ka disappeared at once. Never once has their been a mention of the Suul'kas physical form.

A non-corporeal basis seems most obvious. That way, the remains would seem innoccuous--uninteresting even, obviously the corpses of currently known races that have investigated previously? (I don't know if there has been any real speculation on the nature of Derelicts in the Deacon's Tale.)

I note that this speculation has neither been confirmed nor denied. Highly Suspicious... =)

My suspicion is that the Suul'ka is an ideology, a philosophical/political/religious movement, not a species. They would be perfectly willing to accept volunteers (or "volunteers") from any of the races, and absolutely excel at infiltration and espionage. Their infrastructure would be deliberately and carefully designed for deep concealment and to blend in with innocuous structures built by the various races on independent or even imperial planets. Perhaps the Liirian bioweapon only killed the original Suul'ka species, the ones that conquered Muur and started the movement - but other corrupted disciples lurk in the shadows and spreading their dark doctrines - rather like the ODESSA network that continued to spread Nazism after the fall of the Reich. This would explain a lot about the Suuligi War, and the pain that the Liir elders know and hide deep (maybe their psychological description of the Suul'ka was more than telepath bias). Also, how the space station in the trailer was disabled - it was from the inside, for they are among us. Lastly, think about the Herald - it's a propaganda ship, and that may really mean something.

awesome. Didn't even cross my mind that the Sots universe might also operate like reality.

Thanks for the logic-slap.

edit: it would be pretty boring to play a god... :|

If my post mysteriously vanishes, it's a sign that the Forum Witch has struck once more.
