The Deacon's Tale... on Google Books... Please? :)

Post by Hircine » Sat Nov 24, 2012 9:55 pm

Hello!

I really want a copy of The Deacon's Tale and have an Android phone. Unfortunately it is not available on Google Books on the Playstore :( I know it is available from Kobo, Kindle etc but I would rather not have to download it from these providers then be restricted to reading them through a Kobo or Kindle App on my phone.

Will the book ever be available to purchase on Google Books in the UK? Just wondering

Thank you :)

Not sure what kind of e-reader Android uses but here is a link Erinys put up to help people find a way to purchase her work. If none of those are of any help, try PM-ing Erinys and I'm sure she could set you up with a copy.

What e-format does Android prefer?

Pdf is probably the most universal... I know that is what ibooks uses on ios. No clue about android, as I don't use my phone that way... I prefer the much larger ipad screen.

I believe Google Play Books is fine with both Pdf and Epub. Though after just checking for mobile devices tthey do recomend Epub.

I was just hoping to nab The Deacon's Tale on Google Play books the other day as I do a lot of my reading on the go to and from work.

Doesn't prefer anything. One can download one the apps and read most formats.
Google books uses epub and pdf.

Well, there are good versions of the novel in both those formats, and you can always be nice and download it direct from the publisher...not sure about Google books. Not every e-distribution channel is as publisher-friendly as Amazon.

Thank you for the help. Just contacted Kthonia directly to request an ePub version. So hopefully will have a copy and reading it shortly :P
