SotS roleplay!!! DOODELY DOO!

Post by Shagohad » Sun Apr 08, 2007 6:58 pm

Alright land-lubbers, time to get into space with some serious SotS online roleplay. We write this as though it were a book, the next person takeing on the story from their character's point of view. Now here's the rurles:

No cheap posts.(I don't want any: I shooted you and you diedzorz!)
No godmodding. I don't want you to become Jesus and dodge anything that comes your way or start owning twelve dreadnoughts with a puny destroyer.
Have fun. 'Nuff said.

This RP takes place in the antimatter era. So everything is maximum. AI mission sections are not allowed. They will be NPCs. NO ZUUL...YET!!!!

This looks interesting, hopefully this works out well.

Name: Jason Web
Race: Human
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Looks: Average Height, skinny, light brown hair, blue eyes.
Rank: Commodore
Ship Class: Cruiser
Mission section: Armor
Command Section: Squadron CnC*
Character Bio: Jason is one of the younger squadron leaders in Sol-force. He graduated at the head of his class in Sol-Force Academy back on Earth. Jason was promoted to Commodore after the debacle at Nemesis. Nemesis was the first of 13 worlds that feel when the Hivers revealed their farcasting capabilities. Jason led his torpedo boat squadron on a sub-light intercept of the Hiver Armada tasked with establishing a foothold in the Beowulf system. While unable to destroy the Hiver force, Jason stalled them long enough for a Sol-Force Dreadnought Fleet to reinforce the Beowulf system.

Jason is currently in command of the SFS Morning Star, a prototype vessel being used to judge the feasibility of using Cruisers to command a Squadron sized force.

More detail on the Morning Star squadron**: The SFS Morning Star is an armored cruiser with a prototype Squadron CnC command section. The Squadron CnC section is a heavily modified version of the Fire Control Command section. She is equipped with Pulsed phasers in the small turrets, Phasers in the medium turrets, a meson beam in the forward large turret and a Tractor beam in the rear large turret.

The combatants in the Morning Star Squadron are the armored cruisers SFS Falcon and SFS Hawkeye. Both ships have conventional Fire Control command sections and have identical weapon loadouts to the Morning Star

Support vessels include the refinery SFS New Jersey and the Deepscan/Repair ship SFS Haven. Both ships are equipped exclusively with Phaser PD and missiles.

While not part of the SFS Dominatous's wall of battle, the Morning Star squadron is attached to the Termination Battlegroup. The Morning Star squadron mostly escorts the non-combat vessels and performs operations where it is unnecessary to send the full force of the Termination Battlegroup.

*I didn't want to have command of a full Cruiser Strikeforce...yet, but I didn't want the Morning Star to be a fragile DE...so I kinda made up a Squadron CnC cruiser Command section. It is identical to the Fire Control section...except it provides Squadron level CnC support instead of improved accuracy.

**Does "everything maximum" include the high-end equipment such as as meson beams/pulsed phasers? If not then dumb everything down to positron beams/X-Ray lasers/Laser PD.

(I hope you don't mind me attaching my squadron to your battlegroup :) . Also, if anyone was dying for the names of any of the other ships in the Morning Star squadron; feel free to use them and I will adjust the squadron roster)

I fully understand what you did. I think you're right about dumbing things down. I want cutting beams and all. But antimatter means plasma, missles, torpedoes, etc with name antimatter behind it. You also have the highest antimatter engine of your race. Like Hiver long range jump gates.

And remember that you can use any ship. It doesn't have to be a war ship at all. Feel free to use refineries, colony ships, support ships, and miners. I'm even allowing freighters with limited weapon mounts. I'll make a campaign map to help us out with fleet positioning. This will be quite extensive yet simple. It would help if we had defenseless ships to save all the time and escort. If this works, I'll make one with the Zuul and the ability to be AI command sections.

Awww.... nearly maxed out tech is no fun. A slow and gradual change in technology and weaponry would give a better sense of time passing. Not to mention some truly epic battles as our heroes, still in their rusty bucket pulsed-fission destroyer, encounter a spanking new dreadnought (and perhaps even win with the help of some photonic torpoes and a poorly defended thermal exhaust port). :)

Keep in mind that this is a prototype. I appreciate your comments and would actually enjoy it if you posted a character, then I can better appreciate your support. I used AM era to see how you would use this in your roleplay. If it's used unwisely and complaints are filed, It'll change. Please sign up both of you.

So umm....am I allowed to keep my Squadron CnC command section? Other destroyer mission sections have been put in Cruiser command sections so the idea isn't that far-fetched.

Now what do you mean by that? Godmodding means you become Jesus basically and nothing can touch you. It also means you can't kill people at will. Just join and use your author skills with us. Pwease? :(

Lest we forget, in terms of story and roleplay for the SOTS Universe... her word is the Word of God(ess?).

it's hard not to godmod.. when you are, in fact, God(ess?).

(i say Ess, because Technically, God is a Gender Neutral term, and I think that Godess is sort of anti-productive, as it engenders that God is Male.)

:)

I'd sign up, but i'm not sure how interested i'd be in a "fully developed technological society." :)

Why anti-matter and Starting out with all toys? Why not the beginning of fusion era? It would allow far more toys to be introduced as "holy crap the roaches have a new weapon! AAARGH" and cloaking, first dreads etc. to be special.
