Game crashes when I disconnect headphones

Windows 11. If I connect headphones, audio keep coming through the speakers only for The Pit, while the rest of the computer behaves normally. If I start the game with heaphones plugged, then disconnect them, the game completely freezes.

sounds like a win 11 compatibility issue. Have you tried and emulation mode? The problem here is the original pit is so old, Microsoft doesn't even support the language it is written in anymore. So patching these problems is nearly impossible at this point. Hence part of the reason we have developed The Pit 2.
