thats probably best left between you and your therapist. But if you are able to read the parts about the zuul male minds being in control of the females at all times and seeing through their eyes, you will gather that your scenario really doesn't fit...so to speak ;)

The mating mechanism could have evolved *before* the males gained their psi powers... :-D

Aha! So they would have do their thing practically being blind on their side of things. Which could cause disturbing accidents! Or can they choose to not see through their eyes?

What makes you think they can't juggle multiple perspectives simultaneously?
Zed's TARs (sample):
Fractious Allies -- Hiver vs. Hiver, with allies
Who Let The Bugs Out -- Hiver vs. Tarka and Zuul
Tarka Ascendant -- Tarka vs. Hiver and Zuul

I was thinking that maybe it comes as a consequence of the "spell". To maintain the control you have to see through their eyes.

I don't think there is any basis in the lore for such a requirement.

People, people... the wiki. It is right here--- > http://sots.rorschach.net/Main_Page.

The devs have been answering questions for years, on a wide variety of topics. This includes the Zuul (http://sots.rorschach.net/Category:Soci ... cs_--_Zuul) and their lifecycle (http://sots.rorschach.net/Category:Zuul). It also includes information on how their evolution was wrenched about by the Bloodweaver.
Feel free to call me App- it's shorter.

Why is she in Arbuda?
What do the medic corps do? Why do they have the weird weaponry they have? Do they fight a lot in close combat? Are they trained in xeno medicine?

Which "she" are you referring to? There are several female characters in the game. ;)

If you're referring to the Medic, biological warfare is fairly common in the Sword of the Stars universe, and so are ordinary outbreaks of disease--even epidemics.

Every human colony has a complement of Sol Force medical personnel. They are part of the civil service as a rule, and spend their days performing normal medical duties--repairing broken bodies, supplying antihistamines and antibiotics, studying the interactions between Terran species and the native flora, fauna and fungus.

But every once in a while they have to scramble and try to combat a Beast Bomb or some other bio-warfare attack. Xombie is the worst plague you can ever get in the SotSverse, and for most imperial species it is incurable.

Why do they have the weird weaponry they have?

Her equipment is not really designed to be weaponry, as any Marine would tell you. It can be used to kill in a pinch, however.

Do they fight a lot in close combat? Are they trained in xeno medicine?

Medics are never intended to fight a lot--most of their combat ability is just basic self-defense and the skills that anyone will have after passing Basic Training. Their knowledge of Xeno Medicine is based to some degree on the personal aptitude and interests of the person--you can always take the electives during university and med school, but people who really specialize in Xenobiology usually join White Section, rather than joining the Medical Corps. Medics are always much more interested in human lives than those of any other species.

If you're talking about Astryd, who knows? Maybe the answer is "neither". She might be more attracted to the Psion. Or the Scout, for that matter. :P
