Question about ship sections, armor and DN's

Post by CannibalBob » Thu Jan 07, 2010 1:12 am

If a certain section of a DN has lower armor (eg. magneto-ceramics on the middle section but adamantite on the front and rear), can I actually destroy that ship faster in tactical battles by specifically targeting the midsection, or does it still not matter where I shoot?

Thanks.

AFAIK it depends on whether you are using weapons that can be deflected by that armour. On a DN, all hit points are created equal, but sections that have less armour will still reflect less.
Zed's TARs (sample):
Fractious Allies -- Hiver vs. Hiver, with allies
Who Let The Bugs Out -- Hiver vs. Tarka and Zuul
Tarka Ascendant -- Tarka vs. Hiver and Zuul

it is also good to see if you use Heavy Drivers lesser amoured sections have a much smaller chance reflect the shots so they have an weak spot there...
