Tears of Joy

Post by Erinys » Sat Jul 05, 2014 1:42 am

Wow. I can’t believe it..

I missed it. I was out of the office today. I missed the big moment! The Boss Dawg texted me when the campaign clicked over, but I didn’t get the message until almost five, when I was eating a bowl of soup.

And I can’t believe I missed it! You guys really took me by surprise. I had no idea the numbers could change so much in a few hours, so late in the campaign.

The Thunderclap went off and boom! Thousands of dollars in a matter of hours.

Now I don’t know what to say. My mascara is all messed up and I probably look like a sad clown painting. I’m in shock. I am moved and amazed and humbled that you all made this happen.

This is a milestone moment for us, the first crowd-funding proposal we’ve ever put forward that was fully funded, on any platform. It's a win.

I’m supposed to talk about stretch goals now. Right? We’re supposed to have stretch goals? I can’t even think about stretch goals. THIS was my stretch goal. This little stretch goal. This was over the top for me. FULLY FUNDED RAAAR.

All I can say is…I love you guys right now, more than I can say. Kaiju-sized love right now.

If this campaign makes it to 35K, we are supposed to get another Kaiju and a Mad Scientist added back into the release. I wanted it to be Doctor Belladonna, because she’s awesome (and has naturally curly red hair), but…now I don't even know.

I gotta go wash my face. I’m 44 years old. Women my age are not supposed to cry.

Thank you all so much.

Congratulations. You all are so dedicated to your principles and dreams, and it is beautiful that you are making real progress towards those dreams. To many more successful campaigns and well-received games!

I'm so very sorry that I could not support your company or either of the last two campaigns. Last year, I lost my job, got engaged and we decided now was the time for me to go get my masters and follow my dream to teach special education. I was unemployed for months, no income and we burned through our savings. As I got a flexible job with lousy pay, my Fiance got laid off. She was unemployed all summer. She's just starting her new job now. The long and short of this is that we have less than zero discretionary funds. Know that I'm pulling for you guys with all the metaphysical ju-ju that I've got.

Things are tough all over. Many hugs to you, Patton. This is why we always put so much focus on replayability, in our games. Sometimes you gotta make the fun stretch, when times are tough. :)
