Any hint as to when Kerberos will be going out of business, due to lack of sales?? :twisted: If they keep doing what they have been doing, and making money... Depending on Ms. Dembo's age... I'm gonna guesstimate we have at least 20 more years left... probably more!! :D

Actually, no I haven't. The link you gave is invalid, and I should have said that I didn't realize that sleep was linked to the subconscious. ie, you have to have one to have the other.

No worries, Tambuur'sa. This was scientific speculation on my part, based on what is known about dreaming brainwave patterns in cetaceans on Earth. A Liir is not a dolphin, clearly, but my speculation was that Liir would be even less likely to evolve a true "unconscious" state (with the potential for a subconsciousness) than the dolphins and whales of Terra would be.

So this collective unconscious thing is kind of like the idea of racial memory? The article says "a reservoir of the experiences of our species."
Ernest Hemingway once said the world is a good place and worth fighting for. I agree with the latter sentiment.

Y'know, I'm usually smart enough to realize that there was an extra "/url" at the end of that. But not today apparently. ;) Thanks for the reference, makes more sense.

I wrote my own version of telepathic cetaceans for an online RPG/MUSH back in 2000, and I never thought to look up studies on the unconscious. The voluntary breather/no sleep thing just never occurred to me and I feel sheepish for missing it. :)

Can't leave my HW days behind me! I used to be pretty active in contributing fluff for the PDS HW2 mod. Few documents have my signature on them and I'm thrilled that I've been able to contribute to the HW community...

But yeah. My personas when roleplaying in the HWverse have always been Somtaaw and Tambuur. :D

Since the Tambuur were my own creation, needless to say I have a soft spot for them. ;)

:D Glad to hear it.

Some fluff you might enjoy from PDS, regarding the mod's in character updating of the Bloodhound. If only for the attitude. Yeah, the ranks are made up, but they sounded good!

Really? I contributed a bit of fluff to the PDS long-time back to. Mostly in the forums, I don't think anything but a couple short-stories about the post-HW2 Vaygr ever made it into anything official.

When is the next chapter coming?
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster,
And treat those two impostors just the same;

A planet is valuable, so you fight enough times there to make a Ship Graveyard? Here I thought that I was the only one dumb enough for that.

Excellent chapter, as always. I look forward to seeing the Deacon in the flesh.
