I suppose the BoB intro gives a good impression of what that debris field would look like?

I started as a player in late v6, with my contributions v7 onwards. I <3 Bloodhounds, by the by. :) The way they move and how they pummeled their foes led me to love the Liir.

*poke-pokes the 'net and some of their own archives a bit.*

Jeez-Louiz, I dropped out of PDS somewhere not long after v5.1, so you probably never saw my stuff. Can't seem to find a trace of any of the old stuff on the new site. Mostly I wrote Vaygr fluff.

Hell you are all newcomers to PDS. I was on there when the Bloodhound was first introduced. :P

Oh, hi Daton. :D

Yeah, PDS keeps HW2 alive for me. I love the fiction and RP that goes along with it. Sadly, I lack the time for a full commitment.

As it relates to this wonderful piece of fiction, I must say that I think I'd enjoy anything Ms. Dembo writes. She gets into the heads of the dramatis personae quite nicely.

I left mostly after the Hiigaran supercarrier was un-veiled. I was part of the movement to justify it's deployment, thinking they'd use that gorgeous supercarrier model we saw in the gallery back then. Instead, we got an asthetic attrocity of a ship made from welding two regular carriers together.

Aah well, don't think my stuff was much missed. Just wrote some fluff for the Xerxes and Agamemnon, and a short-story about Vaygr stealing salt.

Not to get back to the story or anything, but I had a couple more thoughts about it (and it only took me four days!):

1. The Jade Mirror seems to have artificial gravity.

2. After reading the TAR forum, especially "Dervy's Tarka" and the "Dealing with the [*spoiler*]" threads, Durendal's Drift reminds me of what you'd expect from a fusion era battle with the *spoilers*. I don't recall if there's an "official" explanation for the interstellar peace in Cai Rui's stories, but it seems the *spoilers* are a pretty good motivation for uniting against a common foe.

It just occurred to me to ask... how is Cai Rui's name pronounced? I assumed Cai is... Cai. Like 'high', but with a 'cuh' sound instead of the H. But Rui?

Kie-Rue-EEE is how I immagined it was pronounced. Kie and in Die or Pie, Rue and is, "you'll Rue the day" and "EEE" and in, well, "EEE"

but thats just my retarded grammatical sense.

We may both be retarded, then... thats how I thought it was pronounced as well. Good to know another person's opinion.

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster,
And treat those two impostors just the same;

You can't rush art Newage.
Ernest Hemingway once said the world is a good place and worth fighting for. I agree with the latter sentiment.

"tzi rue" with the "r" sounded with a slight humming/growl/motor kind of noise. Tone for the Cai surname would be 4th tone, Rui in the forth tone as well, I'd suspect.

The surname Cai is one of the 100 or so traditional Han monosyllable surnames. The given name Rui has the connotations of princely social standing and luck, if it's the one I'm thinking of and have seen as given names before.

Character form of the name would be:
蔡瑞

A guy who sings his own name should get along well with the Liir. :D
