Mirage UI Modpack v1.5 (New Zuul & Human Ship Textures)

Post by LedMirage » Sat Dec 29, 2007 6:27 pm

============================================
MirageUI Player Colors
version 1.5
December 29th, 2007 by Led Mirage
============================================
This mod changes the original player colors slighty and adds a new set of five for a total of fiften colors.

New colors will only take effect when beginning a new game as they are saved along
with the current turn save file.

In Multiplayer games players without the mod will see the color for any player using any of the new custom
colors as a default white but there will be no other problems (no desynchs, errors, etc.)

This is a client side mod and does not affect online gameplay nor does it change any rules or gamebalance.

does it change any rules or gamebalance.

Installation:
============================================
1. Extract all the files from the MirageUI Mod Zip file making sure to use folder names and pointing to your root Sword of the Stars game folder.

The correct Installation will create the following files in your root game folder:

MirageUI Player Colors
..\Mods\MirageUI\MirageUI_playercolors.gob

MirageUI Human Ships Retexture
..\Mods\MirageUI\MirageUI_Textures_Human_Gunmetal.gob

MirageUI Zuul Ships Retexture
..\Mods\MirageUI\MirageUI_Textures_Zuul_Slavers.gob

2. Next enable the mods by editing your sots.ini file found in your root game folder, any text editor will work. When you open the file for the first time you will find this in it:

[Modules]
Mount1=sots_local_en.gob
Mount2=sots.gob

[Locale]
Language=EN
CurrentProfile=Profiles/Profile_YOURNAME.ini

3. Next add a new "Mount" entry for each of the mods you want enabled, note that you want the original game GOB files to be the last Mount numbers in your list.
The [Modules] section of your sots.ini file should look like this when you are done:

[Modules]
Mount1=Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_playercolors.gob
Mount2=Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Human_Gunmetal.gob
Mount3=Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Zuul_Slavers.gob
Mount4=sots_local_en.gob
Mount5=sots.gob

4. Save the newly modified sots.ini file

5. Enjoy!

I'm having temporary problems with registering on that forum.

Could you upload pics someplace else? :)

It's a permission thing, I'll go tweak that in a couple minutes.

EDIT: It should work now without registering, let me know if you have any problems.

Mount2=Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Human_Gunmetal.gob
Mount3=Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Zuul_Slavers.gob

please change to

Mount1=Mods/MirageUI/MirageUI_playercolors.gob
Mount2=Mods/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Human_Gunmetal.gob

huh, the dos dir cmd does that... nifty... :)

Heya

Could you bring up a DOS prompt (Start\Run\cmd)
Change to the %Sword of the Stars% install directory ( default C:\Program Files\LightHouse Interactive\Sword of the Stars\ I think, but don't quote me as I never use the default directory for Games :D )
Then type in the following command please :)

dir /ad /b /s

Could you then copy & paste that result into another post or a PM to me please.

Thanks

Feel free to throw in the custom badges and whatnot in my mod if you like. Speaking of which, I have some more badges that I'll upload in a second release sometime when I get around to it.

Try this structure for the ini:

Like so:

Mount2=Mods/Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_playercolors.gob

and see if it doesn't work like that.

[Edit]I just tested it myself and it seems to work for me[/Edit]

Change the file structure for ALL THREE of the mods.
*sigh*
Like so:

Mount1=Mods/Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_playercolors.gob
Mount2=Mods/Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Human_Gunmetal.gob
Mount3=Mods/Modules/MirageUI/MirageUI_Textures_Zuul_Slavers.gob
