How do you know which ships will go into battle first?

Post by marcfarmer » Sun Jul 25, 2010 8:51 pm

I have more than one fleet at a colony, One fleet was several warships and the other was 2 constructions ships. When attacked, the construction ships went into battle, not the aramada. Why?

Did you have any CnC ships? Without CnC ships you have no direct control over what ships go into battle or in what order they show up. Plus you only get 6 DE's (12 command points) on the field at once. With CnC ships, not only do you get to field more ships (10 DE's or 20 command points by using the Squadron CnC Section), but you can set up both your initial fleet formation and the order in which your reinforcements enter combat.

And as for Construction ships (the ones that build stations), they are always included in any combat at the world they are at. They are too big and slow to get away and so are always present on the combat field.

If you don't have a command ship then you can know for certain that any support vessels will find themselves on the front line :)

at the planet on the strategy map, there is a list of fleets. one fleet with have an asterisk at the end of its name. that is the default "primary defender" fleet. right click a fleet and select primary defender to change it. You also have the option to select / highlight a fleet when manually fighting a combat. whichever fleet is highlighted will go in first, regardless of its position in the fleet que.
